11 Healthy Snack Ideas

Hi guys! Can you believe it’s already June – this year has been going by so fast! Today we wanted to talk about our favorite healthy snacks. They are easy, filling, and good for you. And honestly, what gets better than that?

When we look for snacks, we look for something that has good ingredients, is not too complicated, will fill us up for a few hours, and satisfy our sweet tooth.

11 Healthy Snack Ideas

We try our best to make sure the snacks that we are eating are full of protein, fat, and/or fiber. These are going to keep you full and satisfied for longer.

For example, instead of just eating a plain apple and being hungry an hour later, try pairing your apple with some peanut butter or almond butter.

11 Healthy Snack Ideas

Protein Bars:

Hey Frida

Okay, Hey Frida protein bars are our latest find. As of right now, the only flavor is dark chocolate + coconut + collagen. They are fudgy energy bars, formulated to hydrate your skin, increase elasticity, reduce wrinkles, and trigger new collagen production (heck to the yes).

They are keto, contain just 1g of naturally occurring sugar (from nuts), 3g net carbs, and 13g of protein. The ingredients are simple, the packaging is so pretty, and the bar tastes like a brownie.

Perfect Bar

Perfect Bar’s have been a favorite of ours for a while now. They like to keep things simple by using clean ingredients, whole food protein and the perfect touch of honey to sweeten. Plus, each bar contains 20 superfoods like kale, spinach, and lemon.

They are low on the glycemic index meaning they will cause a lower, slower rise in your blood sugar. You can find them at Whole Foods, Target, Costco, Trader Joes, and online.

If you like peanut butter, then you are going to be obsessed. One of my all-time favorite flavors is coconut peanut butter. And if you like cookie dough, then you’ll love dark chocolate chip peanut butter.

Perfect Bites

Perfect Bites are the bite-size version of Perfect Bar’s. They are perfect for on the go, right before you work out, if you’re wanting a little something sweet, or looking to share a snack with someone. As of right now, they come in two flavors peanut butter and dark chocolate chip peanut butter.

Fruits/Veggies:

Apple + Nut Butter

Apples and nut butter are such an easy and filling snack. Peanut butter is our personal favorite, but if that’s not your jam, try almond butter. To boost your nutrition here are a few ideas:

  • sprinkle cinnamon on top – full of antioxidants, anti-inflammatory, and boosts the immune system.
  • sprinkle hemp seeds on top – a great source of omega-3 fatty acids, vitamin E, zinc, iron, and magnesium. Just one tablespoon provides 5 grams of protein!
  • add dark chocolate chips – boosts mood, helps with stress relief, and promotes heart health.
  • add granola – the brand we use is Purely Elizabeth. Their granola contains a ton of great nutrients.

Banana + Nut Butter

Swap out that apple and try a banana with peanut/almond butter. Banana’s are rich in fiber, antioxidants, and nutrients.

Celery with Peanut Butter

You either like celery or you don’t… we personally like it! Celery is super yummy with peanut butter. For some sweetness, add raisins (ants on a log), dark chocolate chips, or granola. Don’t forget to sprinkle on those hemp seeds for added protein!

Veggies and Hummus

We all know veggies are good for us, so a great snack is vegetables dipped in hummus. For some added crunch, dip in Simple Mills sea salt crackers. They are our go-to crackers… you can find them in a big box at Costco.

For That Sweet Tooth:

Purely Elizabeth Granola

Purely Elizabeth has the best granola. Their granola is filled with nutrient-rich superfood ingredients that taste beyond good! You can eat alone or sprinkle on top of just about anything. Purely Elizabeth also carries oatmeal and bars.

We love the maple + almond butter granola. It tastes like waffle crisp cereal, but obviously way better for you. You can find Purely Elizabeth at Whole Foods, Target, and online.

Enjoy Life Chocolate Chips

We always have Enjoy Life chocolate chips stocked in our pantry. They are free of nut and 13 other allergens! We personally like them because of the really simple ingredients.

Use them for baking, eat for a sweet treat, or sprinkle on top of your food. You can find Enjoy Life at Target, Whole Foods, and online.

Dessert Hummus

If you haven’t tried dessert hummus, you have got to! We just tried the flavor brownie batter from the brand Delighted by Dessert Hummus. OMG! The best part is all of their desserts use only pure ingredients and are 100% vegan and gluten-free.

You can dip with fruit, pretzels, graham crackers, use as frosting, or eat by the spoon. The options are endless! Comes in all different flavors, you can find at Target.

Our Favorite Healthy Snack:

Air Popped Popcorn with Nutritional Yeast

It’s true, this is our favorite healthy snack. Air popped popcorn is made with a hot air popper and popped without oil. All you’re going to need is an air popper and organic popcorn kernels.

We like to drizzle a tablespoon of melted butter and sprinkle nutritional yeast on top. Butter contains fat and nutritional yeast is packed with protein and B vitamins. Just two tablespoons of nutritional yeast has 8g of protein!
