Blogging Tips: How To Support Influencers

Welcome to the new monthly series we’re starting on the blog called blogging tips. Each month we are going to be focusing on different topics that have to do with blogging and Instagram. Basically, we’re going to be an open book and spill all the deets!

This series is not just for bloggers/influencers. This is for anyone who wonders what being an influencer is like, what blogging consists of, what goes on behind the scenes, etc. On top of that, it’s a great reminder that we can ALL support each other…influencer to influencer and reader/follower to the influencer.

We have been blogging for over two years now and although we still have a long way to go, we have learned a lot. Truthfully, there’s not a ton of information out there that talks about what bloggers/Influencers do behind the scenes. There’s a lot that goes into it! From trying to grow and build your business to balancing the many hats you wear, it’s far from easy.

Blogging Tips: How To Support Influencers

Throughout these two years, we have received countless messages from others asking for tips on blogging and growing. It makes our day when we receive those messages because 1) we love helping others and 2) it’s a great reminder of how far we have come.

Our philosophy is that we are an open book with our business. We don’t have anything to hold back because not one person’s journey or story is going to be the same. What works for one person, may not work for the other. Especially, because things are always changing within the social media world. With all that being said, let’s talk about how to support influencers:

Engage on Instagram

We strive to make that connection with not only our followers but the people we are following. We want to help others out, lift each other up, and support others business’. Here are a few ways you can do just that:

• Like and comment on posts – by liking and commenting on people you follow, you are saying in simple terms, hey I see your picture and I like what I see! Liking and commenting truly helps the people you are following.
  • Influencers make a portion of their income from working with brands, so the better the engagement the more likely they will be able to land those collabs.
• Read captions – This is really important. Many times the caption has nothing to do with the photo. So take the time to read it and respond to what they are saying.
• Start a conversation through DM’s – We love getting DM’s (direct messages from people). It’s so easy to send a quick little message to who you are following. Bloggers/influencers want to hear from you.
  • We want to know our audience and build a friendship with you!
• Watch their stories – With us, our stories are a mix of what we are sharing on the blog, plus a little peek into our everyday life. Stories are one of our favorite ways to stay connected. When you watch stories, if something speaks to you, react to them. Just another fun way to make a connection!

We jumped into this crazy world with the intention of starting a fashion blog. To get our blog more out there, we started our Instagram page in hopes that it would be another way to promote our blog posts.

Shop The Influencer’s Links

This can be through LIKEtoKNOW.it, blog posts, swipe up’s on Instagram stories, etc. One of the many parts of our business is to share things that we love, shop for, and use. Think of bloggers and influencers like salespeople because we do make a very small commission from others shopping via our links.

Reach Out

Don’t ever hesitate to reach out because we want to hear from you!! We love getting messages from people that follow us, it always makes our day when we are able to connect. The best part about social media is you can build great relationships with others who you wouldn’t have ordinarily met.

True story: we made really good friends with someone via DM’s on Instagram because she would always send us messages asking us for advice on what to wear from her closet…
