How To Style Your Summer Blazer

I love how adding a blazer adds that polish and sophistication to any look. Just because the extremely warm weather is here doesn’t mean that I will say goodbye to my beloved LOVE of blazers. I just simply swap out my plaids, tweeds, and dark tone blazers for a more summer vibe.

Summer Blazer Styles

Summer blazers are lighter weight such as a linen because the fabric allows more airflow that’s highly absorbent and a good conductor of heat. Basically, we’re all now going to be wearing linen everything for the rest of the summer, haha! Here are a few different styles of blazers that you can find:

• Structured
• Double-breasted
• Printed: floral blazer outfit, stripes, polka dots
• Colored: white, black, pastel, bright
• Casual
• Unlined blazers
• Fancy
• Linen
• Lightweight

A Great Summer Blazer Is:

Maybe you are struggling with what type of blazer to get. Especially with this hot summer heat a lot of us are having. Here are some qualities to look for that makes a summer blazer great:

• The fabric/material being lightweight
• Cropped Sleeves or a blazer that you’re able to easily push/roll the sleeves
• Bright colors or even the Pantone color for this year
• More on the casual side: a fabric that can easily move

How To Style Your Summer Blazer

• Choose a white blazer instead of a darker color:

Pair with the same color pants/shorts or a midi skirt.

• Choose a bold colored blazer:

Summer is for bright colors so I like choosing a bold colored blazer and keep the rest neutral with white or off-white. Fresh and perfect for summer!

• Trade your dark grey blazer for a pink one:

Pair with all black or white to streamline the look.

• Nothing says summer like gingham:

Pair a gingham blazer with a white tee and denim shorts.

• This season is all about pastels:

Pair with a light blue blazer, matching pants, and just a white tee underneath. To see a similar look, matching sets including linen blazer + shorts.

• Swap out your dark plaids for a colored plaid:

Pair with a silk skirt and white kitten heels. Definitely more of a dressed up look, but one that you’ll look SO fab in.

• Have a lightweight blazer?

Pair it with a tee, light-colored skinny jeans, and add a fun pop of color.

• Have you tried a true navy blazer or black blazer?

Pair it with a white tee and denim cutoffs for an easy cool-girl style.

• Graphic tee with some denim cutoff shorts:

This is my tried and true favorite way to wear a blazer… a graphic tee and my cutoff denim shorts. You could call me, Katie the blazer and graphic tee obsessed girl!

• Don’t forget to accessorize:

• Pair with a jumpsuit, t-shirt dress:

Keep it casual by wearing a cute pair of sneakers or wedges.

• Take your light-weight blazer and tuck it into a pair of pants to play as a t-shirt:

This creates a chic and sexy look for a night out. Tip: pair it with a loose pair of pants.

• Pair a structured blazer with a summery LWD:

Adding a little structure to a flowy dress can help add definition.

• Combine a classic double-breasted blazer with casual shorts and some sneakers:

It’s like a mullet – business on top and party on the bottom.
