Oversized coats are roomier, “boxier” coats that come in flattering and fluid shapes. When styling an oversized trench-like coat, think of it as an extension to your outfit.

Never underestimate the power of an oversized coat. A coat can make or break an outfit so look for one that fits you well all over i.e shoulders, arms, length, and body.

Different Styles Of Oversized Coats For Spring

Double-breasted coat:

A classic cut and style coat that will stand the test of time.

Blazer:

Long line and boyfriend style blazers were seen all over the runways. They are perfect for finishing off your outfit. Choose a neutral, plaid, pink, white, or camel. You’ll be surprised how much you will be reaching for it.

Trench Coat:

You’re going to be seeing belted trench coats more than ever this spring. Neutral, earth tone colors that can be worn oversized or belted at the waist.

Clear bags and shoes were all the trend last year and now we are seeing it in trench coats as well.

Denim Jacket:

It’s no secret that our love for our denim jackets runs deep. We both have a longer line, oversized denim jacket and it truly is our most styled item we have in our closet.

Duster:

Dusters are great for a lightweight layer, especially when it’s starting to get warm out.

Oversized Coat Outfits

You can wear a lot with oversized coats. They’re perfect for springtime because most are lightweight, which makes for a great layering piece.

Skinny Jeans:

If you’re wanting to create a more slimming look, skinny jeans are the way to go. You want to be aware of not having an excess amount of fabric when styling your oversized coat.

Don’t stray away from mom jeans or boyfriend jeans, but instead make sure your top is on the more form-fitting side. Same goes for an oversized sweater or t-shirt, just be aware of the size/structure of your pants.

Belted and worn as a dress:

This is such a fun look! Belt your oversized coat of choice and wear as a dress. Style with heels for a feminine, chic look and you’re ready for a night out.

Dress:

Pair a dress underneath your coat then pair with your shoes of choice.

Monochromatic look:

We’re all about monochromatic looks at the moment. All tan, black, grey, or even different shades of the same color like purple, pink, blue, etc.

Athleisure Wear Outfit:

Wanting to feel cute, casual, and comfortable all at the same time? Pair your oversized coat with joggers, faux leather leggings, a sweatshirt, graphic tee, the options are endless.

Biker Shorts:

If you’re all for rocking the biker shorts trend, then style them with an oversized coat and t-shirt (cropped, band tee, etc.)
