From $4.99 to $90, form-fitting to loose fitting, we’ve got all the options for you to find the perfect white tee. For reference on my sizing, I am 5’4″, 115 pounds, wear a small in t-shirts, and a 32a in bra.

H&M T-shirt

This H&M t-shirt is going to be your most affordable one at $4.99. It’s fitted, straight cut, and would be the perfect layering piece.

I sized up one, so I am wearing a medium. It is on the slimmer side, but not all the way form-fitting. If you want this t-shirt to hug the body, stay with your normal size. If you want a bit more room, size up one.

Sizes: xxs-xl

Fabric: 55% cotton, 40% polyester, 5% elastane (has a bit of stretch)

This t-shirt is perfect if you: 

• don’t want to spend a ton of money
• want a slim fit
• want a white t-shirt for layering

Overview:

I think this is a really great white t-shirt when it comes to the quality and the affordable price. I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants to layer or wants their tee to be fitted.

Everlane The Cotton Crew

The cotton crew by Everlane is $18. It’s fitted, straight cut, and features a slim neckline and short sleeves.

I went with my normal size (small) and if I were to repurchase this t-shirt again, I would size up at least one size. When untucked, it clings to the hips.

Price: $18

Sizes: xxs-xl

Fabric: lightweight Supima cotton, 100% cotton (has a bit of stretch)

This t-shirt is perfect if you:

• don’t want to spend a ton of money
• want a slim fit (especially in the neckline and sleeves)
• want nice quality for an affordable price

Overview:

This wasn’t my favorite because of the slim neckline and sleeves. It personally felt too constricting, but I prefer a more loose fit. That being said, I do think this a great t-shirt for the price, especially because of the 4.64/5 stars out of 2,000+ reviews.

I also really like that Everlane is transparent about partnering with the best, ethical factories around the world and sourcing only the finest materials.

Madewell Whisper Cotton Crew Tee

The whisper cotton crew tee is Madewell’s best selling priced at $19.50. It’s a loose fit that features a curved hem and a longer sleeve length that can be rolled.

I went with my normal size (small). I would stick with your normal size, but if you want it to be more form fitting you may want to size down one. It drapes well, especially because of the curved hem.

Sizes: xx small-3xl

Fabric: light and airy slub cotton, 100% cotton (features heather fabric so it’s going to have a sheer look, but not see-through)

This t-shirt is perfect if you:

• don’t want to spend a ton of money
• want it to be loose fitting
• like longer sleeves that can also be rolled up
• are looking for a more sheer look (because of the heather fabric)

Overview: 

I think this is great for anyone who wants added detail to a plain white t-shirt. The curved hem, heather fabric, and rollable sleeves do just that. I also like the wide range in sizing (xx-small to 3xl).

Aerie T-Shirt

My particular tee is a few seasons old but now comes in a new style, Aerie distressed boyfriend t-shirt. It’s going to be a loose fit that features some distressing on the crew neck and sleeves.

Although I don’t have this new style, I suggest you size down one because of the boyfriend fit.

Price: $24.95 (Aerie is always having sales, though)

Sizes: xxs-xxl

Fabric: 60% cotton, 40% modal (made with Aerie’s real soft fabric)

This t-shirt is perfect if you:

• don’t want to spend a ton of money because Aerie is always having sales
• want an oversized/loose fit
• prefer a really soft tee (feels so comfortable)
• like having a long tee that can be worn with leggings
• like a little bit of distressing

Overview:

I highly suggest this to anyone who likes an oversized look. This tee would be great for anyone that wants their bottom to be covered or wants to wear with leggings, bike shorts, etc. This particular fabric is the softest out of all the t-shirts mentioned today.

Z Supply The Perfect Crew Tee

Z Supply’s perfect crew tee is $29. It features a ribbed neckline and is going to be your most classic white t-shirt.

I am wearing my normal size (small) and would say it runs true to size. Just like the H&M tee, it’s on the slimmer side, but not all the way form-fitting. If you want this t-shirt to hug the body, stay with your normal size. If you want a bit more room, size up one.

Sizes: xs-xl

Fabric: 100% cotton (has a bit of stretch)

This t-shirt is perfect if you:

• want a classic fit
• prefer a really simple/basic look

Overview:

This is my least favorite white t-shirt for a couple of reasons. I personally thought the fabric felt on the cheaper side for being just under $30. I also found that there was little to no detail besides the ribbed detailing on the neckline.

By no means is this a horrible white t-shirt, I just think you can find better for this price.

Rag & Bone The Tee

The tee by Rag & Bone is going to be your most expensive at $90. It’s fitted, has heather fabric, and stitching down the center of the back.

I am wearing a small and it runs true to size. This is a very classic fit, not too tight or loose.

Sizes: xxs-3xl

Fabric: custom fabric, sewn from 100% Pima cotton slub jersey (features heather fabric so it’s going to have a sheer look, but not see-through)

This t-shirt is perfect if you:

• are open to spending a bit more money
• want a classic fit
• like added detail (heather fabric and stitching down the back)
• want a tee that’s designed to stand the test of time

Overview:

The quality and material make it feel like a $90 shirt. It comes in a wide range of sizes (xxs-3xl) and is the perfect classic fit. The heather fabric and railroad stitching down the back gives some added touches.

So, which white t-shirt won first place?

We ended up having two favorites… H&M and Rag & Bone aka the least and most expensive ones. The H&M t-shirt is only $4.99, really great quality for the price, has a bit of stretch, and hugs the body just right. The quality, material, classic fit, heather fabric, and stitching down the back of Rag & Bone’s tee makes the $90 price tag worth the investment.
