Why We Love Trader Joe’s

Not only is Trader Joe’s pretty close to us, it’s such an easy layout to grab all of our favorites whether we’re stocking up on a ton of items or only a few. We’re those people who go to ALL the grocery stores around us because not one place has everything we are needing. Trader Joe’s never disappoints when it comes to their products! We truly enjoy eating healthy and that’s one of the many reasons why we love TJ’s… we’re able to pick up so many great items when grocery shopping that is not only healthy but super yummy.

Trader Joe’s Shopping List

  • Chocolate Covered Peanut Butter Pretzels:

Starting off the haul just right! We don’t get these a lot because they’re THAT good, but since we’re sharing all of our favorites… we just had to! A little tip: put them in the refrigerator. $3.49

  • Organic Red Lentil Sedanini:

Great when you want something quick and filling. With 13g of protein and 3g of fiber! Try Trader Joe’s Tuscano marinara for the sauce and add some chicken sausage with a little basil. $2.99

  • Ciabatta Rolls:

We make a really yummy sandwich for dinner with these Ciabatta Rolls. You can just heat them in the oven for a few minutes and they taste delicious. $1.99 for 4 rolls

  • Lundberg Organic Brown Rice Cakes:

These rice cakes are perfect for an afternoon snack. We have several recipes that we like to make with these rice cakes for a healthy and filling snack. $2.99

  • 3 Seed Sweet Potato Crackers:

We have heard several people talk about these crackers and decided to give them a try! The verdict is they are SO good and honestly taste like sun chips. You can get 17 crackers for 160 calories. $1.99

  • Cornbread Mix:

Not the healthiest, but every once in a while is totally okay! We love having cornbread with chili. We honestly think Trader Joe’s cornbread is the best. $2.69

  • Tuna:

We mentioned in Wednesday’s Life Lately post that we have been loving tuna. Check out that post to see how we have been making the most delicious lunch with tuna. $1.69/oz

  • Mac & Cheese Bites:

Okay, these are not healthy at ALL! We buy this for a family member of ours who absolutely loves them. If you like mac n cheese then you will love these because let us tell you, they are so so good. $3.69

  • Riced Cauliflower Stir Fry:

We love to make a meal out of this! Add any cooked protein of your choice (we like topping it with an egg and maybe even some avocado). It’s such an easy and healthy meal for when you don’t have a lot of time. $2.99

  • Organic Riced Cauliflower:

A great alternative to using rice or quinoa. We use riced cauliflower in our chicken bowls for a meal… FYI it doesn’t smell that great! Speaking of rice and quinoa (if you love either), TJ’s has the most convenient microwave packages of both that are fast to make and delicious. $1.99

  • Organic Peanut Butter (creamy salted):

This peanut butter is plain and simple. It has only 2 ingredients – peanuts and sea salt.

  • Crunchy Salted Peanut Butter with Flax & Chia Seeds:

If you like crunchy peanut butter with a little something extra, then you will love this. Flaxseed has heart-healthy fats that are an excellent source of fiber & chia seeds help you absorb fat-soluble vitamins boasting more omega-3 than salmon.

  • Grilled Chicken Strips:

We like to use this in our salads, we also add this chicken in our chicken bowls, for the chicken pesto sandwich we like to make, in soups, etc. $5.49/oz

  • Mozzarella Part Skim:

We always stock up on mozzarella when we go to Trader Joes. Every Wednesday night we make pizza and use this mozzarella. It’s also great for sandwiches or as a little snack. $4.99

  • Organic Broccoli Slaw:

Have been adding this to our salads, chicken bowls, and wraps. $1.99

  • Chicken Sausage:

Trader Joe’s chicken sausage never disappoints! We have tried every flavor and they are all so good. We use the sausage as a topping on our pizza or in the lentil pasta we make. $3.99

  • Peanut Butter Filled Pretzels:

We love having a handful as an afternoon snack or even if we just want a little something else after lunch.

  • Organic Popcorn Kernels:

Our go-to afternoon snack. We have an air popper and it pops the kernels in about 3 minutes. You can add butter if you’d like, but we just eat the popcorn plain. $2.29

  • Dried Cranberries and organic seedless raisins:

We like using the dried cranberries on top of salads or tuna. We have raisins for an afternoon snack if we’re wanting something a little sweet.

  • Organic Unsweetened Flake Coconut:

We’re starting to get more into coconut flavored things. We don’t use coconut flakes that often, but we love using them as a topping for our yogurt and pitaya bowls. Would also be good for baking coconut cookies or even in some cereal.

favorite trader joe products

  • Turkish Honey:

Topping for our yogurt/pitaya bowls. We also use in the recipe we make for protein balls.

  • Organic Coconut Aminos:

A great alternative to using soy sauce. Can also be used in dressings and marinades.

  • Coconut Oil Spray:

Use as an alternative to canola/olive oil spray.

  • Organic Extra Virgin Garlic Flavored Olive Oil:

Instead of pizza sauce, we use this olive oil as the base. It brings out such a great flavor.

  • Everything but the bagel sesame seasoning blend:

Use on avocado toast, with your eggs, in guacamole, on top of cream cheese, etc.
