Happy last week of March girls! Can you believe it’s almost April? We are still sitting here waiting not so patiently for spring to arrive. Our fear is spring is going to pass us by and summer is going to slap us in the face!! Summers here are not that great – they are hot and humid! Well, enough about the weather and let’s start talking about overalls.
I have always loved overalls and have worn them throughout the years, as they come in and out of style. The past few years I have seen them all over Instagram and thought, I love them on everyone else, but I’m not so sure I can pull them off anymore. On one of our weekly shopping trips, Lydia and I stopped by Madewell, and I saw these adorable overalls. Of course, I was instantly sold!
Types Of Overalls
SO let’s talk about overalls! Overalls obviously come in all different shapes, colors, materials, and styles. With all clothes, it honestly depends on your body type for what style will work for you. So be brave and shop, shop, shop. Try on all the different looks until you find the overall for you.
Bib Overalls
When I typically think of overalls the picture of bib overalls comes to mind. These type of overalls are still on trend but can give you more of a childlike look. So if you are NOT wanting that vibe, steer clear of this style. You can find bib overall in pants, dresses, and shorts.
Apron Jumpsuit
This style of jumpsuit has an apron like tie in the back giving it a more defined waist. With this style of a jumpsuit, it can be worn with or without anything underneath.
A-Line Overalls
A-line overalls take on a modern twist. The style has a deep plunging “V” in the front. Such a cute way to highlight your top underneath.
Wide Leg Overalls
The name pretty much says it all, with no explanation needed 🙂 They add that perfect statement with little to no effort, besides just putting it on!
How To Style Overalls
We like to keep things pretty simple when it comes to wearing/styling overalls:
- Add a fun printed bandana
- SO many great statement bags right now that would add the perfect touch
- Delicate gold jewelry, anything James Michelle and we’re sold
- A pair of wedged espadrilles
- Any hat
- Throwing on a lightweight jacket or cardigan
What To Wear Under Overalls
What’s so great about fashion is anything goes when it comes to what you wear underneath your overalls. Some of my favorite looks with overalls: a cute off the shoulder blouse or a cropped tee peeking out under your favorite bib overalls.
Nothing is more classic than a basic white tee. A bodysuit is perfect under your overalls as well! No riding up with a perfectly smooth and polished look.
