Fall, is that you? That’s what we keep asking because we are soooo ready for that chill in the air so we can do all the layering and just everything that belongs in the Fall category. To get us pumped up, we want to talk trends you’ll be seeing for Fall 2018. ahh!
But before we do that, let me talk about my wrapped mini dress that is a perfect transition from Summer to Fall. If you didn’t know, red is one of the big trends for Fall 2018! I can easily transition my dress by adding a denim jacket (like I did), a leather jacket, or even a long statement coat (hint, another big trend you’ll be seeing). Add some taller boots and statement pieces that we’ll be talking about in a minute and you will be a walking 2018 Fall Fashion Trend.
2018 Fall Fashion Trends
I think we can all agree that Fall is the best, right?! Haha, I know I know that a lot of people aren’t ready for summer to be over and don’t like those cooler temps, but these girls over here basically have a countdown for the season to change. If you’re like us and are ready for Fall then you must check out Zara, Urban Outfitters, and Free People. Take one good look at each of those sites/collections and you’re all caught up on 2018 Fall Fashion Trends.
Plaid and Checks
Prairie dress and plaid blazer
Two trends for 2018 mixed together, a flowy prairie dress and plaid blazer. To really finish off this whole look, add a belt bag which is another big trend that you will be seeing this year.
- Speaking of belt bags, see-through bags are still going to be in/sticking around.
Houndstooth Wrap Skirt
A houndstooth wrap skirt is great if you’re going for a more professional look, just add a white button down blouse. Since we go for more casual looks, add a sweatshirt for those perfect Fall vibes.
Mixing Plaid Prints
Don’t be afraid to mix two plaid prints together & go for some fun Fall colors (green, mustard, blue, red)! An oversized plaid shirt and plaid mini skirt pair really well together.
- We shared how to style glen plaid pants and it’s still one of our favorite looks to date.
Silky Square Scarf
If you’re not sure how you feel about the plaid and checks trend, then go for a silky square scarf. You can tie it on your purse, in your hair, or even on your jeans.
Animal Print
Leopard Buttondown top
A leopard buttondown top can be a hit or miss, but when styled correctly it’s a definite hit. Tying your buttondown top in a knot and styling with a pair of high waisted pants makes for a super chic look.
Printed Midi Skirt
Try out an animal print midi skirt like this snake print pleated midi skirt. By adding a plain chunky knit sweater it makes this look more subtle. Dress up this look by adding some booties or dress down with some sneakers.
- Last year we shared some styling tips on a really similar look: one midi skirt styled two ways.
Mixing Animal Prints
We love mix match fashion and it’s totally acceptable to mix different animal prints together. Just make sure you are styling a small print with a large print & that they are balancing each other out. To really complete your mix match outfit, add a long plain colored coat.
- Zara does a great job at showing you how to mix match animal print.
Adding a pop of animal print
Pair some black denim with a leopard print top, it helps calm down your animal print just enough OR if want minimal prints, go for a pair of animal printed earrings, bandana, or booties/mules.
- We got a great leopard sweater from Nordstrom that we shared on the blog along with an outfit on styling a pair of leopard boots, andddd how to wear a leopard coat.
