Let your shoes do all the talking this fall. Time and time again we find ourselves relying on a pair of shoes to complete the final look! Most of the time we are wearing simple outfits that aren’t that exciting, some sort of tee and ripped denim. But girl, we’re not stopping there! Adding in those shoe trends instantly elevates the outfit to the next level and makes your simple outfit not so simple anymore.

Are you annoyed with how much we keep talking about fall on the blog, haha? Our logic is if we keep talking about it, then it’s obviously going to come way sooner! But really, we are just preparing for fall in all the ways we can aka buying all the clothes & shoes we’ve basically been drooling over. Cowboy Boots

Cowboy boots and even western wear are hot this season. If you are not sure you want to go all out and look like you are starring in a western movie, no worries! When it comes to styling cowboy boots, the sky is the limit. Have fun with your cowboy boots and choose a bold color like my white Marc Fisher Chelsea Boot.

I just recently got the cutest pair of metallic-silver cowboy boots with a blocked heel from Naked Boot & Shoe. Furthermore, the boots combine the best of both: cowboy and metallic trends. I can’t wait to show you how many ways I am styling them.

Combat Boots

Combat boots have been around forever. Although they took a back seat for a while, they are back and very relevant for fall. Combat boots add that extra edge to any look, all the heart eyes. Also, pairing combat boots with a skirt or dress is our favorite way to style these style of boots. In addition, we just love that mix of girly-edginess.

80’s/90’s Inspired

If you are old enough then you might remember all the Reebok and Nike sneakers that are making a comeback and are SO on trend. The Reebok Freestyle Hi Sneaker, Reebok Club C 85 Sneaker, Nike Blazer (which Lydia picked up at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale), and let’s not forget about the ever-popular Nike Cortez. We can’t forget to mention the Dad sneaker or “ugly” sneaker trend that graced us earlier this season. A clunky shoe that has double or triple soles – creating a lot of comforts but a look that not everyone can or wants to pull off. But hey, if you can rock it, more power to you!

Metallic

Metallic shoes have been going strong for a while. Although this shoe choice may scare many, it is truly an easy shoe to style. Also, when pairing metallic shoes, look for similar tones such as black, blue, gray, pink, or white.

Kitten Heels

Kitten heels are the perfect heel height. They give you a little lift without killing your feet. My (Katie’s) style tip when shopping for most shoes is looking for a pointed toe. Since I am 5’2″ the pointed toe draws the eye out creating a longer look. Look for a cute slingback which is super easy to wear and chic looking.

I (Katie) have to say that when I think of kitten heels, I think of the shoes my Grandma used to wear. SO, when choosing a kitten heel, I look for a fun print or a shoe with a little bit of something-something. Anything, so I don’t feel old – hahaha.

Animal print shoes are the perfect neutral statement shoe. Whether choosing a leopard, cheetah, or even snake print, which we have been seeing all over the place, don’t be afraid to mix it with colors, patterns, or whatever you are styling it with.
