You will find that many Holiday dresses are more of an investment piece meaning they are going to cost more than you might like to spend. That’s just what my dress is because it only gets worn once or twice a year. I was willing to spend a bit more since I knew the style of Holiday dresses typically stays the same for years to come.
That being said, don’t fret if you don’t want to invest in a Holiday dress. We’ll be sharing affordable dresses + tips that will make you look ahhmazing no matter what.
1. Bring on the texture
Play with texture when styling your Holiday-inspired look. Add a different material or print to add depth and interest. Look for jackets, coats, tights, socks or even a layering top to add a unique spin to your look. Here are some textures to look for when shopping: sequins, velvet, glitter, faux fur, lace, satin, or leather.
2. Layering for warmth
Layer a turtleneck under a camisole or dress. Incorporate those different textures for your top like we just talked about: lace, ribbed, a fun print like leopard, sequin, or a plain top in a fun color.
- Style tip: when layering, make sure your layering piece is fitted to not add any bulk to your look.
Add some tights that have a fun texture, color, or print. It not only will add a little warmth, but it will up your cool-girl vibe. Wanna look Parisian chic? Let a cute pair of socks peek out of your boots or wear some socks with your open toe heels.
3. The perfect shoes
You don’t always have to reach for a pair of heels when dressing up. Think outside the box and go for a bold shoe such as a pair of combat boots.
You can play with proportion and reach for an extra tall pair of boots to style with your shorter dress. When looking for shoes, look for different textures: sequin, velvet, studded, or glitter.
4. Adding some glam
It is so easy to add a little bit of glam by just adding a fun bag, a statement belt, or statement jewelry. Look for rhinestones, fur bags, or a pop of color.
- Style Tip: Belt your coat with a waist-cinching belt to add an extra layer and make that gorgeous coat be apart of your look.
5. Top it off with a jacket
From fun furs to velvet to menswear-inspired jackets, there are so many options out there to up your level in your holiday look.
