Casual Thanksgiving Day Outfits

We seriously love the Holidays!! We’re those people that go straight from decorating for Halloween to decorating for Christmas! BUT don’t you worry, we still love Thanksgiving. We have a pretty big family so it’s always fun being able to get together with everyone for the Holidays. Besides the fam, our fave part has to be the food and call us biased, but we think we have the best food around! Our family is very very casual, maybe that’s where we get our love of casual clothes, so really anything goes for our get-togethers. We’re talking like jeans and sweatshirts, hey even some sweatpants if you want!

Let’s start talking casual Thanksgiving day outfits!! Our definition of casual is to be stylish and comfy and that’s just what we’re going to show ya. Different options you can choose to dress for a less formal Thanksgiving celebration with your family and friends.

What To Wear On Thanksgiving

Sweater, Slim Cropped Pants, & Leather Jacket

If your family dresses up a little bit more than this option is a great one for you. We love a classic pair of slim cropped pants. Whenever I wear them I feel like I am channeling Audrey Hepburn and who doesn’t like to feel like a fashion icon, I know I do! Something about the color of this sweater and the stripes makes me have major heart eyes and honestly, it’s perfect for Thanksgiving!

And as always, since it is cooler where we live we love throwing on our leather jacket for added warmth and a chic look.

Graphic Tee, Joggers, & Heels

If we can get away with wearing loungewear out of the house we will!! When you’re wanting to dress up your joggers look for a pair that is more form fitting so it creates more of a structured look. Joggers really are just sweatpants, but let’s face it sometimes you just don’t want to look slumpy. So a more form-fitting pair is the best option for you!

We love to style our joggers with a blazer, a graphic tee, and heels. A little styling tip – wearing a pair of nude heels especially when wearing a cropped jogger will elongate the leg, drawing the eye down to the tip of your shoe, and not creating a chopped off look. Mixing all of these trends together gives a chic, but oh so put together look.. just how we like it! And hey, most joggers are elastic waist or drawstring so they are a great option for overindulging!

We did a whole post on blazers so check it out HERE so you can shop our favorites!

Sweatshirt, Ripped Jeans, & Mules

Just the two details of the cowl neck and tie cuffs make this sweatshirt more dressed up! Adding a pair of ripped denim and mules is the perfect way to be casual and comfortable while still looking put together. Pair your less structured shirts with a pair of skinny jeans or pants to give you balance and proportion.

I could easily dress down this tie sleeve sweatshirt with some sweatpants and sneakers, but not today! We will save that look for another day 😉

Sweater, Ripped Denim, & Mules

We love the embellished pearl trend that we are seeing this season. Pearls add just a little bit more sophistication and dress up whatever you are wearing. We tend to like to add a little edge to our feminine pieces by styling it with a pair of distressed denim. To complete this Thanksgiving Day look we paired it with a more formal pair of patent leather mules that are embellished with tiny studs.

This look could easily be dressed up with a black pair of pants and heels.

Camisole, Cardigan, & Jeans

You truly can never go wrong with a camisole and cardigan; they are a great combination any time of year. We are loving this color block cardigan because the colors remind us of the perfect fall outfit! When styling a cardi and camisole, choose the same color pants as the camisole for a dressier look. This styling tip allows the cardigan to be the statement piece in the outfit.

Fuzzy Sweater, Leather Jacket, & Fur Lined Mules

You know our love of leather and suede jackets; they truly are a closet staple that can be styled so many ways. For this outfit idea, we chose a fuzzy soft white sweater. The sweater just reminds us of the holidays. In fact, you probably will be seeing us style it for Christmas and NYE as well.

Oversized Sweater & Over The Knee Boots

Choose an oversized sweater and OTK boots to be comfortable and stylish for your Thanksgiving dinner. When wearing an oversized sweater, a good trick to not make you look bulky is to tuck the front into your pants. Don’t forget to add a belt for a more put together look.

Blouse & Suede Jacket

A blouse styled with a suede jacket, and paired with a non-distressed pair of black denim, is a great choice for a dressy casual day with family and friends. Pair a cute bralette underneath a blouse for a feminine touch.

Lastly, If you want to wear a dress for Thanksgiving a sweater dress is always a great option!! Check out THIS post to see different options and how to style it. And before you go, It’s getting close to one of the best times of year (in our opinion) which means Holiday Gift Guides. We just put up our first one all about gifts for the Hostess, so be sure to check it out to get all the gift ideas 🙂
