Daily Skincare Routine

Skincare has always been an important step in our morning and night routines. Our skincare routine is always changing based on the time of year to how our skin is feeling that day to trying out new products.

Skincare can be overwhelming, especially when you are trying to figure out what products best suit your skin type and skin care goals. Something to note as well is everyone’s skin is different. Just because one product is working on your friend’s skin doesn’t mean it’s going to work for you. It may be a process of trial and error, but that’s why we want to talk all about our skincare routines + share tips that can get you on your way to creating your own routine.

Katie’s Skin Care Routine

Skin type: Normal and aging skin.

Skin Goals: Glowing skin and decrease signs of aging.

Morning Routine

My skincare routine is crazy, probably a little overboard. But hey, I love skin care products and I feel like each item I use does a little something different.

Step 1: Essence

An essence preps the skin for your serum. I love Fresh products and Fresh Black Tea Kombucha Antioxidant Essence has great ingredients for anti-aging.

Step 2 and 3: Vitamin C Serum and Eye Cream

I have been using SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic for about 10 years now. It’s one of those products that if I don’t use, I truly notice a difference!

  • Improves signs of aging
  • Reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
  • Firms and brightens

Korres Black Pine Super Eye Serum is great to depuff your eyes in the morning. Since it’s a serum it is not a stand-alone eye cream.

Step 4: Ice Roller

This is the Ice Roller I use on my skin in the morning.

  • Calms the skin
  • Prevents wrinkles
  • Improves dryness

Step 5 and 6: Hyaluronic Acid Serum and Ice Roller again

If you are not using hyaluronic acid in your daily skin routine you need to change that up. Yeouth Hyaluronic Acid Serum is super inexpensive and I just love it.

  • Plumps
  • Hydrates
  • Anti-aging wrinkle serum

Step 7: Cream

I love Biossance Squaline + Omega Repair Cream. It’s a clean beauty product that feels so delicious on my skin.

  • Smooths rough texture
  • Plumps the look of fine lines
  • Soft and supple with dewy radiance

Step 8: Eye Cream

This Rodan and Fields Bright Eye Complex helps brighten under your eye and lightens the dark circles.

Step 9: Oil

NOTO Botanics Deep Serum makes me beyond happy. I have been using this serum as the last step of my morning and night time routine. It’s a clean beauty product that I believe everyone should use.

  • Deeply hydrate and reduce redness
  • Anti-aging and anti-inflammatory
  • Moisturizing

Step 10: Eye Cream

As I said, my skincare routine is over the top and my final step is using Rodan and Fields Multi-Function Eye Cream.

  • Improves the appearance of crow’s feet
  • Decrease puffiness and fine lines

Night Time Routine

Step 1: Remove Makeup

We both love Farmacy Green Clean Cleansing Balm and use it to remove our makeup.

  • Doesn’t strip the skin
  • Naturally exfoliates the pores
  • Leaves skin feeling hydrated

Step 2: Wash Face

I continue to try to switch my skincare products over to clean beauty products. The smell of the Botnia Renewing Face Wash reminds me of a day at the spa. It helps remove those last few traces of makeup.

  • Prevents the signs of aging
  • Leaves you feeling fresh while reducing inflammation

Step 3: Essence

Same as the morning, Fresh Black Tea Kombucha Essence.

Step 4 and 5: Two Serums

The Rodan + Fields Active Hydration Serum adds moisture into the skin and preps the skin for products layered on top of it.

Before my next serum, I use Rodan and Fields Bright Eye Complex.

Probably excessive to use two hydrating serums, but each one does a slightly different thing. I use Botnia Hydrating Serum as well.

Step 6: Night Serum or Retinal Night Cream

Rotate between Farmacy Honeymoon Glow and SkinCeuticals Retinol Night Cream.

  • Honeymoon Glow: resurfaces, hydrates, and clarifies dull skin
  • Retinol Night Cream: lessons the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and dark spots.

Step 7: Balm

I love a thicker cream at night and Josh Rosebrook Vital Balm Cream feels fabulous and is another clean beauty product.

  • Supports skin regeneration
  • Slows skin decline
  • Calm redness and inflammation

I then follow up with Rodan and Fields Multi-Function Eye Cream.

Step 8: Oil

Same as the morning, NOTO Bontanics Deep Serum.

Lydia’s Skincare Routine

Skin type: Hormonal acne, dry skin, and sensitive.

Skin Goals: Combat acne, reduce scarring and redness, and hydration.

Morning and Night Routine

For my skin type, I have found that using a minimal amount of products is what works best. My morning and night routine is very similar with just a couple products added or taken out.

Along with that, 1-3 times per week I like to do a bit more self-care for my skin. From using face masks to exfoliating.

Step 1: Wash My Face (morning and night)

I use a cleanser that is good for sensitive skin and isn’t going to leave it feeling dry. In the morning I will either wash my face with a cleanser, exfoliate with Farmacy Gentle Exfoliating Grains or run my face under warm water.

  • Gently lifts impurities
  • Soothes, protects and calms skin

Step 2: Toner

I love this Tulsi + Rose Toner because it helps reduce redness, scarring, inflammation, and improve skin texture.

Depending on how my skin is feeling that day, I will use a cotton pad to gently massage the toner into my skin or spray directly on my face.

Step 3: Ice Roller

After toning my skin in the morning, I will roll my face with my ice roller.

  • Brings down redness
  • Keeps my acne away
  • Reduces inflammation
  • Stimulates lymphatic drainage

Step 4: Hydrating Serum

I love Botnia’s Hydrating Serum because it contains hyaluronic acid and vitamin B3 to deliver maximum hydration, vitamins and minerals deep into the skin.

Step 5: Eye Cream

I have been using OSEA eyes & lips. It’s an anti-aging cream that visibly firms, brightens and hydrates.

Step 6: Oil

Praise hands for oils!! NOTO Botanics Deep Serum Oil has been amazing for my dry skin.

  • Great for all skin types
  • Hydrates the skin
  • Smells like heaven!

Step 7: Moisturizer

Having dry and acne prone skin, I realized that using too much moisturizer was actually making my skin worse. I use a minimum amount of Ursa Major Golden Hour Recovery Cream every day.

  • Hydrates the skin
  • Maintains the right levels of oil and moisture
  • Soothes

Step 8: Moisturizer for lips and eyes

This LANEIGE Lip Sleeping Mask soothes and moisturizes for smoother, more supple lips.

I like putting Cocokind Matcha All-Over Moisture Stick under my eyes at night for extra hydration.

Step 9: Moisturize hands and feet

This NOTO Botanics Moisture Riser Cream has helped keep my hands hydrated during the cold months. Formulated with hyaluronic acid it helps alleviate dry patches and plump the skin.

My feet have never felt softer thanks to CocoKind All-Purpose Salve.
