Retro is in and one of the clothing items that come along with that is corduroy. You either are going to love corduroy or hate it, we personally think you should love it. Not just because we do, but because you are going to look cool and be super comfy all while wearing it.
What is Corduroy
Raise your hand if you have worn corduroy (a thick cotton fabric with velvety ribs) sometime in your life. Just to let you know, we’re both raising our hands. Ever since we both were little we have been wearing it and reading it, don’t you remember the book, a pocket for corduroy? Anywaysss, it’s just one of those fabrics that are always coming and going depending on the trends for fall and winter each year.
Don’t knock it until you try it! There are so many subtle ways you can add corduroy into your wardrobe if you’re just not sure how you feel about it. Along with that, you are able to find corduroy that’s great quality and not going to break the bank. That’s something that is key for us because let’s face it, next year we may not be loving it as much as we do right now. Another reason why we love us some fast fashion stores.
Fall Corduroy
Now for the fun part, we get to talk all about our fall corduroy favorites. We have been Forever 21 shopping like crazy lately and let us tell you, their corduroy game is STRONG! Walk into our house and you’ll be seeing corduroy all over the place. Haha, totally kidding about that! But I think you get by now just how much we’re obsessing over it.
Corduroy Pants
These Corduroy Wide-Leg Pants are what I’m wearing in today’s post. They’re stretchy and comfortable. Also, they come in 3 colors. Under $30!
Wide leg corduroy pants in a powder pink color, yes please! I would pair this with a white tee, denim jacket, and sneaks.
Love the idea of pairing these wide-leg corduroy pants with a matching blazer & white booties.
Corduroy Dresses/Overalls
No wonder we’ve seen this sleeveless corduroy mini dress from Target all over Instagram. The color, details, and the fact that it’s under $30 has us sold.
Imagine these corduroy button-front overalls with this floral print bodysuit, all the heart eyes! Furthermore, the color combo is one I’ve been gravitating towards for fall.
Corduroy Shoes
Drooling over the corduroy, side o-ring zipper, and chunky heel. I’ll take one of each color in the Ariel Ankle Boot.
How GOOD are these forest green corduroy mules?!
Corduroy Blazers/Jackets
We picked up this corduroy blazer during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. Also, it’s currently 40% off. A nice thick material, that can easily be dressed up or down. In addition, I paired it with my polka dot dress, maxi dress 5 different ways, and was obsessed with how the look turned out.
In love with how this corduroy trucker jacket is styled online. Just a plain tee, ripped denim, and booties = an everyday casual look that has our names written all over it!
This Asos cord jacket is super similar to the jacket above, except it is lined with fleece. Basically, extra cozy and warm for those winter months.
Not going to be everyone’s cup of tea, but I’m totally adoring this Topshop camo corduroy jacket. An edgier take on corduroy and you know how we feel about camo, ahh!
Fall Corduroy Skirts
We’ve been seeing O-ring zippers all over the place. This corduroy skirt paired with a sweater is such an easy outfit that will be getting you all the compliments.
The big buttons and pockets on this button-front corduroy mini skirt.
Cord wrap skirt featuring tortoiseshell buttons down the side. Also, the color is a really pretty blue/green and would look fab with a fitted white long sleeve!
Just a little above knee length, cord zip-up mini skirt in beige. Style with a striped colorful tee… Forever 21 has a great selection.
Great post friends!! I love all of the affordable options!! I’m thinking I may end up with one from F21. Thanks again!
You are always making our day with your sweet comments, Waynna! Seriously love you so much girl. And we have been obsessing over Forever 21 lately. SO many great finds and affordable which we love. xo!
