Fall Western Trend, people are either loving it or hating it. If you couldn’t guess from today’s blog post, you probably already know that we are loving it. The best part is whether you’ve already jumped on the bandwagon or not, we are taking a different approach that we think you are going to fall for… think understated ways to wear the western trend this year!
Fall Western Trend 2018
Honestly, trends are kinda weird if you think about it! It’s like who decides that we are all going to be wearing western wear this year or be obsessed with all things animal print this year? Not complaining though because the fall fashion trends have been speaking to us left and right.
Back to western wear for this year, it can be a little intimidating if you just hear or see the name. Let’s be honest, you hear western and think of a cowboy with all his western accents. If you really think about it though, western wear generally consists of a cowboy hat, a leather belt, and cowboy boots. And truthfully, many of us own one or all of those items just listed!
With us taking a different approach, we’ll be sharing some tips + tricks of how you can do the same. For the western wear trend, we are definitely taking a more subtle approach. Don’t you worry though, that subtle approach is going to be all you need to be rocking all the looks.

1. Cowboy Chic Accessories
It so easy to add a little western wear into any look you have. Just add a fun western style belt, a wool hat (Lack of Color has a great selection), or even a great fringe handbag and you have the perfected understated cowboy chic look.
Another really easy way to add this trend into your life is by adding a bandana whether that be to your hair, tied around your neck, handbag, or even wrist. To really step up your game, throw on a brown suede jacket to complete the look.
2. Western Boots
Obviously, I love a great pair of booties… you can even see all the fall shoe trends for 2018 we’re loving. When I saw these white western style boots I was hooked… It’s like all my favorite bootie trends rolled up in one! The best part is that cowboy boots don’t have to look like you are heading to the rodeo! There are so many styles out there that there is bound to be one that speaks to you.
3. Button Up Tops
A western inspired button up is a no-brainer if you want to rock this trend this season. To keep your outfit from not looking full-on cowboy; style your blouse with an unexpected twist like a pair of plaid pants or just a great pair of jeans from your closet. Finish it off with a pair of heels or sneakers, two of our faves!
4. Western Style Clothing
Who doesn’t love a cute dress or skirt? We do! Especially styled with a pair of cowboy boots. There are some great western wear dresses out there, but if you don’t want to invest in this trend… listen up! You can just open up your closet, pull out your denim skirt and you have got yourself an on-trend look. Some other really easy ways for western style vibes is a denim on denim look, denim jumpsuit, or frayed hem jeans.
