Mix Match Fashion: How To Mix Patterns In Your Outfits

Hi babes! Today’s a good day on the blog because we’re going to be talking all about one of our favorite styles/trends to date. We have been rocking mix match fashion for almost a year now on Oh Darling Blog, so it’s necessary to share all the details on how to mix patterns in your outfits.

If you follow along with us on Instagram then you would know how we love to have fun with mixing our patterns and stepping out of the pattern mixing comfort zone, you could say! Seriously one of our FAVE things to talk about, so let’s just get right to it.

Mix and Match Fashion

We love us some mixing of patterns and so should you! Just kidding, BUT mix and match fashion trends are coming in strong this season and they’re one of the many trends not to ditch this year. If you haven’t already, you should probably jump on board because we promise it’s not going away any time soon!

It’s kinda like the rule that you don’t wear white after Labor Day. We are here to admit that hey, we’re proud offenders and not afraid! Even if you wear white year-round, that doesn’t mean that you won’t hesitate when pairing two different graphic prints together. But listen, just try it before knocking it!

This season we are seeing A LOT of everything when it comes to prints, colors, pants, and sweaters/tops. If you haven’t already, check out all of the blog posts on Fall Trends for 2018. Some of our favorite places to shop not only mix match fashion, but really all trends are H&M, Forever 21, AsosZara, and Bershka.

How To Mix Patterns In Your Outfits

Stick with a classic piece such as stripes.

Leopard is truly neutral in the print mixing world – it will pair with just about anything!

Pair prints from the same kind of family – small print gingham with larger print gingham.

Style a bright print top with a lighter print bottom.

Keep the silhouettes simple and classic & let the print mixing do the talking.

Pair patterns and prints that the colors go together.

Remember mixing patterns is supposed to be fun!

Most importantly DON’T overthink it! You’ve got this girl!

Mix Match Outfits We Love

Just because we are fashion bloggers doesn’t mean that we don’t get in funks of what to wear or how to style something. When we’re feeling that way, we get a ton of inspiration for putting our outfits/looks together from Pinterest, Who What Wear, The Every Girl, and people we follow on Instagram.

And before you go, if you still aren’t sold on the whole mix and matching of patterns, we put together a mix match fashion Pinterest board for you so that your mind will change! It may be intimidating at first, but you’ll be rocking mix match outfits in no time and everyone will be stopping you on the street.

Have we convinced you yet? Let us know if you’ve already jumped on the mixing and matching patterns train or if you’re going to be soon! Love you babes.
