Sometimes all you need is a pair of polka dot pants in your life to make your day better. It seems like every season there is one item that I gravitate to over and over again. This season its linen pants! Wait, scratch that… not just linen pants, but a fun print linen pant. A pair of pants that WHENEVER you put them on you feel good, sassy, and chic.
Many people are not sure what a blogger “actually” does. They think it’s as simple as snapping a picture, posting it, and well… that’s about it. When we decided to chase this crazy dream of ours, we knew it involved more than posting a picture, but we truly did not realize how much work & time went into it. We absolutely LOVE what we are doing and truly believe that this is what we are supposed to be doing at this stage in our life. I bet that you can ask any blogger out there and they will tell you that there are very frustrating moments, days, and weeks. But really, you don’t even have to be a blogger to feel the same way!!
Changing Things Up
Slow Growth
Our blog is our true love and we love the creative process of writing. That being said, we know that Instagram is a hugeeee part of the blogging world. We jumped on board a year and a half ago to late and our growth is just super slow. In fact, it’s slow for everyone and that can get really frustrating.
How we deal with it:
When we started out we tried the serious blogger face – the not smiling, looking down at who knows what pose. It all got old and not fun really fast! It wasn’t us. We are the girls who liked to be goofy and just laugh at all of our photos. Some of our favorite photos were the outtakes of the serious ones. So, we decided we needed to just be us and show who we are.
- we changed up our editing: see the presets we use HERE
- we started having more fun in our pictures
- we’re not huge accessory girls, but we started adding some bags, hats, and jewelry for a fun prop
- changing up where we take pictures
- adding unexpected props such as food, yum!
How can this relate to me? Because I’m not a Blogger
As we stated before we all have times that we feel stuck in our lives. We’re queens of routines over here. We love us some structure and “control”. That being said, changing things up just a little does the soul good. You don’t have to shake up your whole world to feel refreshed!
Simple changes:
- try a new trend that may be out of your comfort zone. It can be as simple as adding a fun statement pair of earrings
- changing up your routine: maybe you have the same breakfast every day, mix it up, try something new!
- do one thing each day for yourself. For me (Katie) I like to wake up early and have quiet time reading from my daily readers. It’s just for ME and starts my day with a grateful heart
- add a pair of polka dotted pants. My pants make me happy!

Some days are harder than others and that’s okay. Just remember that good things will come and where you are in life is right where you should be! Changing up a little part of your day to do something that makes YOU happy can truly be just what you need.
