Oh hey, Wednesday! This week is kind of a crazy one for us trying to get all the things done. I (Katie) am going on a cruise, so we are really trying to get ahead on all of our blog posts. Crossing our fingers we can get that done. We also have some exciting things that will be happening in the next few weeks that we can’t wait to share!
Time to talk about our honest opinion on shopping at SHEIN. We’re sharing all the tips and tricks and answering all the questions. If you’ve ever wondered: what is SHEIN, is SHEIN legit, and is it even reliable then you have come to the right place.
What Is SHEIN?
SHEIN is all about offering on-trend styles that won’t break the bank. They are always staying on top of the latest trends from around the globe, which means they have some really good dupes/knockoffs. You can find just about anything you may be looking for: dresses, graphic tees, sweatshirts, pants, activewear, blazers, accessories.. you probably get it by now! The best part is SHEIN’s prices are very inexpensive and who doesn’t love saving some money?
Is SHEIN Legit?
The most asked question, is SHEIN even legit? The answer is YES! With anywhere you shop, especially stores that are inexpensive you’re going to find mixed reviews – good and bad. We have personally never had any problems while shopping at SHEIN.
Is SHEIN Reliable?
When it comes to getting your packages delivered on time, it truly depends. It’s definitely no Amazon prime shipping if you’re wondering! SHEIN ships from one of it’s many globally positioned warehouses, so you have to take that into consideration because you honestly don’t know where it may be coming from.
Tracking your package: If you want to track your package, that is the one thing we never had luck with. They send you a confirmation email, but other than that we haven’t been able to find a way to see when it will be arriving or if the package is on its way.
Appearance: All of the items of clothing, shoes, and accessories we have purchased from SHEIN has arrived looking the same as online. We definitely recommend being aware of what you’re buying as far as the fabric and quality. ALWAYS read the reviews, that’s our #1 tip for you!
Sizing: This is a tricky one, the sizing honestly ranges with each item. Our advice is to either get your normal size or go a size up. If you’re wanting a tighter fitting top, we always go up one size. Especially with cheaper material, it’s more likely the fabric may shrink when washed.
Tips For Shopping At Shein
Read The Reviews
Like we mentioned, always read the reviews! If there are no reviews, we probably aren’t going to purchase it. Most of the items are reviewed, which is always a plus. The reason why you really should read the reviews is that they’ll tell you how the item runs, what the quality is like, if the item looks like the picture, and a lot of people post photos of them wearing the item.
Purchase Shipping Insurance
Take away one thing from this whole blog post, purchase shipping insurance!! It’s only $2.99 which means you will be able to return anything you need basically for “free”. Even if you don’t end up returning any of your items, we truly think it is worth it.
Side note: You do have to purchase shipping insurance each time you shop at SHEIN
Sizing
Sizing is really hard on SHEIN. For the most part, we’ll usually stick with our normal size or go up one. Once again, the reviews are most likely going to tell you how the item runs.
Side note: If you hover your mouse over the sizes (S, M, L) it will give you the dimensions. There is also a size chart that will give you the same information for each size that is available.
Quality
When shopping at SHEIN we gravitate more towards outerwear and handbags. We find that those types of items are more of a nicer quality than a tee you may purchase there. That being said, we have purchased several different tees from SHEIN, including the one I’m wearing. They all have turned out to be a nice quality for the price you’re paying. Just be aware and you truly should be fine!
Customer Service
We have never had any problems that we have had to reach out to customer service. When looking at reviews though, they are always responding back to customers.
Dupe/knockoff
If you need a good dupe/knockoff SHEIN is the place: handbags, sneakers, loafers, tees, and swimwear.
Shein Review: Clothing
You can find some great clothing items from SHEIN. A little tip is to have in mind what you may be looking for since they have a lot on their site. Shein Review: Swimwear
We have personally never purchased any swimwear from SHEIN but wanted to share our opinions/thoughts after doing some research. Although swimwear can be really expensive, most of the time you are paying for how long the quality is going to hold up.
SHEIN’s swimwear is really cute, but the swimsuits don’t have a lot of coverage. From reading more than several reviews, they were very mixed. A lot of people were saying the top fit, but the bottoms were too tight and vice versa.
The sizing is going to be a hard one since the swimwear comes as a set. There are a lot of people who have to get different sizes on top and bottom, so unless you have the same size, it may be difficult. That being said, each swimsuit is different so once again you just have to read the reviews.

I’ve been shopping at and partnering with SheIn for over 2 years now and couldn’t agree more with your tips! I always tell my galpals to follow the measurement chart and to not go by your normal US letter size!
